The visitor's center, while not big, has a good amount of information about Lawrence both in printed materials and in "the video." The video, while not the finest cinematography, is about 25 minutes of the history of the founding of Lawrence created using local actors,...More

There is a semi private event room at the visitors center. Probably holds 60 people max. I attended a private event and the building actually had staff at the visitors center in the evening. You can pick up info about Lawrence there.

This is a great place to stop to stretch your legs, pick up destination guides and maps, and to learn even more from the friendly staff that work here! They'll even send you home with a packet of sunflower seeds for your own garden.

We started here to see the building which is the old railroad depot. Watched about a 30 minute movie on the history of Lawrence. They had some artifacts and many brochures about the area. Interesting stop but not much there.

I have been here for several venues: weddings, parties, and presentations. It is better for weddings and parties. Presentations have to stop when a train goes by as you cannot hear.

It's a small place, but you can find some information about Lawrence and Kansas. You should go there before visit any other place.
