Very "meh"
Aug 2021
The same experience should be offered to all the guests, or a discount should be given. When we arrived, there were no shows, we were not offered to participate in any games, and no schedules for events and activities were posted either.
A rather average experience for a tourist, although archeologically it is rather inspiring and well put together.
The staff wasn't particularly friendly.

A day well spent as a viking
Oct 2017
I visited this place with a group of adults, and we truly enjoyed our stay! The day as a viking was an unforgettable experience, likewise the viking style buffé we enjoyed as our dinner. There are some accommodation in here - better to book in advance especially on high seasons!

WOW - A great experience we wont forget
Aug 2017 • Family
The hospitality was amazing, we learned to throw axes, shoot bow arrows, and walk on crutches.
The Viking house was lovely , we enjoyed sleeping there, and the food was excellent. We loved Patrick's training and his stories from the Viking metrology.
Huge thanks !!!
Hope to come again....

Really good experience for the whole family
Aug 2017 • Family
A bit by chance I chose this attraction to visit with family, my self my husband, children and grandchildren. This was a treat for all of us. Really good intro to Viking way of life. History, replicas of houses and ships, genuine Viking artefacts found in the area etc. We stayed the night in rooms in "the Great Hall", and we had a Viking feast, and of course a Sauna. By staying long enough we were able to really immerse ourselves in the history, not easy if you just take a short trip.
We will come back again!

Authentic viking buildings
Jul 2017 • Couples
The buildings were well made and this viking center had a lot to give. Unfortunately we could not participate all of the guided tour because our dog wasn't allowed to go inside all buildings. I would have liked to hear in more detail about viking history.

Re-enactors, or real day vikings
Jul 2016 • Family
This place offers an unusual opportunity to travel back in time to a normal Viking village, with all the charms of the old and yet the close convenience of the modern world, the front entrance is your pathway between worlds,
Great staff and experienced guides, plus if you visit during the viking village weekend, you will be able to see real people, experts in their fields crafting, battling and just living as they were many decades ago,

Piece of interactive viking history
Aug 2016 • Couples
It was amazing! My gf and I have done a viking tour/hunt through out Scandinavia and this was our favorite place. We stayed one night with dinner, sauna, breakfast and access to the place.

The place is well themed, buildings look fantastic, you are able to interact with a lot of the items, dress up as a viking, try out archery and axe throwing. Also able to explore the viking Hall, a viking house, an early Christian church, 2 boats.

It was magical and we hadn't included archery or axe throwing in our package, but they fixed it for us and nothing was a problem. Great place!

They also had 95% off the food lactose and gluten free! And everything tasted amazing!

A superb place to spend a beautiful summer day
Jul 2016 • Couples
They have everything you would like to have when the sun is shining: the landscape, atmosphere, activities, animals, history, merchandise, food and even their own beer! We spent the best two hours exploring the premises and enjoyed every minute of our visit. Lunch in the Chieftains Hall would absolutely be something to try, because the hall was a treat for the eyes!

This is also a great place to visit with children. They have so much to do and see that no one should get bored!

A brief look at Viking history
Jun 2016 • Couples
This was part of a package trip for us that included visits to Rosala and Bengtskar. The Viking Center portion included access to the various displays and exhibits on the premises, a 7 minute video (available in English) on the Viking religion and lunch in a Viking-like hall.

The lunch that was included was a local recipe (not viking-related) and very good. It was set in a dining hall that tries to simulate the viking look and feel. There were other drinks (bottled beer and locally brewed beer) and snacks that were also available for sale.

The other exhibits were interesting, the most fun being the one where you can try on the equipment. Others were static exhibits with some simple information. The 1.5 hours we spent was enough to cover everything including lunch.
