Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The Viking Centre was ok, but service was not. We were shopping souveniers in the main building and asked jokingly if we could get it with 20€ sharp. the lady behind the desk said that she doesnt like us enough to give 2€ discount. We left with very mixed feelings. We would have not paid anything if that would have happened in the very start of our visit.

A fairly lackluster visit. You get a map that makes the place to fairly large and entertaining- in reality it's overgrown with grass and nettles. The food was pretty tasteless but, at least, the hall was nice looking. A bit of TLC would go a long way- although they may be working on a tight budget- who knows? I wouldn't go again.

We had booked this crossing to get to this Viking center and eat there.
Even though the main animations take place in July, we made a superb discovery.
The place is just magical: we ate a typical fish dish, very good , by candlelight.
All this in the midst of Viking exhibition, jewelry and souvenirs to buy and outdoor games we tried. (Axes thrown, archery, tug of war etc...)
Lovely, smiling staff, this place was born from a project started 30 years ago by enthusiasts.
We recommend! 😊

The center is a tourist trap with not so much historical content. However, they offer delicious fish soup for groups. The group organisation with the guide is quite poor, you don’t know what the tour includes and what you are supposed to see by yourself and what time different language groups take place etc.

The same experience should be offered to all the guests, or a discount should be given. When we arrived, there were no shows, we were not offered to participate in any games, and no schedules for events and activities were posted either.
A rather average experience for a tourist, although archeologically it is rather inspiring and well put together.
The staff wasn't particularly friendly.

The hospitality was amazing, we learned to throw axes, shoot bow arrows, and walk on crutches.
The Viking house was lovely , we enjoyed sleeping there, and the food was excellent. We loved Patrick's training and his stories from the Viking metrology.
Huge thanks !!!
Hope to come again....

This was part of a package trip for us that included visits to Rosala and Bengtskar. The Viking Center portion included access to the various displays and exhibits on the premises, a 7 minute video (available in English) on the Viking religion and lunch in a Viking-like hall.
The lunch that was included was a local recipe (not viking-related) and very good. It was set in a dining hall that tries to simulate the viking look and feel. There were other drinks (bottled beer and locally brewed beer) and snacks that were also available for sale.
The other exhibits were interesting, the most fun being the one where you can try on the equipment. Others were static exhibits with some simple information. The 1.5 hours we spent was enough to cover everything including lunch.

I visited this place with a group of adults, and we truly enjoyed our stay! The day as a viking was an unforgettable experience, likewise the viking style buffé we enjoyed as our dinner. There are some accommodation in here - better to book in advance especially on high seasons!

A bit by chance I chose this attraction to visit with family, my self my husband, children and grandchildren. This was a treat for all of us. Really good intro to Viking way of life. History, replicas of houses and ships, genuine Viking artefacts found in the area etc. We stayed the night in rooms in "the Great Hall", and we had a Viking feast, and of course a Sauna. By staying long enough we were able to really immerse ourselves in the history, not easy if you just take a short trip.
We will come back again!

This place helps you to understand how vikings were living. If you book a tour, you will get to see a video explaining the viking life and its history. After the tour you can walk around and see an old viking ship and the tools they use. In the lunch time there is this place viking style decorated where they serve a delicious fish soup for the participants.
