I have been to Pike's Peak for 2 weddings and once just because. It's such a beautiful look out point and place to be. There are multiple spots for gorgeous pictures! Plus, it's free!!

There is a beautiful view of the Mississippi River valley where the Wisconsin River flows into the Mississippi River here. The 2 overlooks are a short distance from the parking lot. There is no admission fee to the park. There are several picnic tables here...More

I checked the Iowa DNR, Travel Iowa & a few other sites. A repeated quote was from the Farmers Almanac stating that peak colors are best the weekend closest to October 10th. I think it all depends on how much rain we get... More

I would not recommend swimming in the Mississippi River. Current seemed too fast.

Not the trails, but the path to the overlooked paved and would be accessible for wheelchairs. The overlook is located right next to the parking lot and picnic areas. It has absolutely beautiful views of the Mississippi... More
