The exterior is well worth seeing. Unless you are staying at the hotel, you only have access to the small lobby and lower lounge area, but well worth a walk-through. If you are in Mason City, you wouldn't want to miss it.

Although Frank Lloyd Wright designed and built six hotels, the Historic Park Inn Hotel is the only one left. Restored by the people of Mason City saved this gem, and now it’s open for tours.

The docent we had, Vicky, was well versed in the stories of the hotel and Mason City back in 1908 as well as the rapid decline and eventual rescue of this unique survivor among Wright’s commercial properties. If you like Wright’s work, go see it....More

The business leaders of Mason City funded & restored this incredible piece of history....otherwise it was going to be torn down!! 18.5 million dollars was spent in the mid 2000's to restore it...simply amazing. Reserve way in advance as there are just 26 rooms BUT...More
