Farm Equipment Museum & Trails

The location is very pleasent. I have not yet found the museum open. However, I was able to view some old style farm equipment which was outside, and in a stable.

My wife spent her early childhood on a farm, so it was a great thrill for her to take her city bred grandchildren and somewhat ancient husband to this more than a century old landmark and recount childhood memories. A cozy historical experience about Fairfield in its early 20th century history. From 1910 until 1938 the owner of this farm, J. G. Maasdam, raised and sold award-winning draft horses.

This is a small town treat. Old barns, old farm equipment, friendly volunteers, local history. Brought back memories of growing up in a small town in New England. Many of the tools looked like what my father had in his garage (guess my age...). Free, but we happily left a donation. Check for special events from time to time.

Not many people know about this place, especially the townies. It is located right next to the highway and the hospital (AmericInn Hotel too). As a barn preservation group goes, the staff of volunteers are dedicated to exposing guests to a rich history. Their tours range from 40 min to 1 hour and they answer all your questions. Not something... More
