My husband wasn't sure he wanted to ride but the view from the top was worth driving up. For $3 each round trip it was a quirky fun ride. You can ride from top or bottom, spend as much time as you want and then...More

What a wonderful way to get a view of Dubuque!! Such a fun ride to the top and back down again for only $3. There are two areas to take in the view, one on each side of the "house". It's a must-see when visiting...More

We did this on a whim! It was awesome!!! The view from the top is amazing! And it was a fun ride down the side of a steep hill! There are cute shops at the bottom. We had an ice cream at the bottom....delicious!

For 6.00 a ride to the top and back for two adults was a deal. The view from the top was amazing . There is some parking at the bottom but would be wise to either walk or get there early.

There's something memorable about the ghostly doors of the car opening at the bottom and then being pulled up a 71 percent grade on a piece of equipment older than my grandmother. Our kids love the elevator and we stop everytime we're in dubuque. It's...More

The elevator is the same as it’s always been. It’s been around since 1882. It’s the world’s shortest, steepest elevator. The view at the top can’t be beat. It costs $3 for adults round trip (kids $1.50). Definitely worth the ride if ever in Dubuque.

My kids were so excited. The view was great. Something they will never find at home in Chicago. They took tons of pictures after the fear was gone.

This place has an interesting story. A man who lived at the top of the bluffs worked at the bottom. Back in the 1800 it took him 30 minutes by horse and buggy to go one way so he built this short cable car. All...More

Not intense. You are seated (a bit crowded!) in the car. It is fun and if you are lucky, in October there might be a bit of fall color. The view is lovely on a clear day. It can be a bit tricky getting in and out, but you... More

No, the elevator car is very narrow and set up like a set of stairs on the inside, there be no where to put the wheelchair.
