Wow! This was a difficult but fun course. The carts had gps which helped when we couldn't see where we were going, but I do wish they showed other carts on all holes and not... read more

Beautiful old golf course with many beautiful huge old trees rarely will you have a level lie sidehill lies down hills you imagine it you will find your ball in that position. Just finished a round today the greens were perfect rolled true fairly easy to read. Course was founded in 1901. If you are 13 handicap or worse make... More

interesting place, some cite it as being the oldest muni course west of the Mississippi. It reflects of the design of being from an earlier era. There is plenty of challenge with a couple blind shots, a some smallish greens and many tightly tree lined fairways. And for an added touch of quirkiness the Drake University Observatory sits on the... More

Wow! This was a difficult but fun course. The carts had gps which helped when we couldn't see where we were going, but I do wish they showed other carts on all holes and not just the blind ones. The beers were a bit expensive from the cart, but very cold on a hot day. We played best ball and... More

I golfed here in the late fall and used this course all winter for sledding with kids and training running hills. The scenery here keeps running interesting and the option to run on frozen turf, snow, or paved trails is a nice change up from street running. The clubhouse has drinks and bathrooms as well as a proshop to rent/purchase... More

The oldest golf course west of the Mississippi requires a laser like tee shot on most if the holes. The beauty if the course will make up for all of the mulligans though.

Hilly tree lined fairways are the hallmark of this course. It can be walked but you better be in shape. Bring plenty of golf balls if you spray the ball.

The neatest thing about the course is its history/age. It is a relatively nice course for a municipal course...and could be excellent with better care. The heat of late summer beats up this hilly terrain. If you are a walker, you'll get a bit of a workout, as it is pretty rare to have a level lie on this course.... More

I checked the Waveland website and it says course was built in 1901. Overland Golf Course in Denver was opened in 1895.

this course is tough but fun. You had better know how to hit uphill/downhill lies and it better go straight or your PROV-1 is on the freeway heading west....

The best municipal golf course I've ever seen. You will need a motorized cart to handle the hills unless you are in top physical condition.
