Nice place

It was a great break on a cold day. It's a little pricey for less than an hour experiance and I'm sure it is better in the warmer months to visit the outside gardens

Originally I was they only on interested in coming here. By the end of or visit the whole family changed their minds. Kids enjoyed the place especially the different smelling geraniums in the green house. Walked around outside but not much to see this time of the year. - 1 dot for not discounting the price considering 1/3 of the... More

We took 3 grandkids, ages 5 to 12. All of us enjoyed seeing the different plants. There was a scavenger hunt for the kids to participate in and that helped them to really see the plants. We all really enjoyed our day here.

We were looking for things to do to entertain out of town guests and decided to go to the Botanical Center. We quickly decided that the middle of winter is not the time to go! While the inside exhibits were nice, there really wasn't much to look at. The outdoor exhibits were closed and we had no access to them.... More

This is a beautiful oasis in downtown Des Moines. We went on a grey cloudy January day- I look forward to visiting again in the summer to see what is happening outside - There were many families with small children there and it was a happy warm environment. I do wish that there was more signage so we could know... More

Paid entrance but worth a visit for those interested in botanical gardens. Especially nice to visit in the cold Iowa winters!

The garden is best in warm weather when you can roam all the grounds, including walking under a waterfall. Wonderful seasonal plantings and lots of water elements, including a view of the river. The inside is excellent, but you go through it fast. Still, there's something for everybody here—goldfish for the little kids, bonsai trees for grandma. The restaurant is... More
