I like to walk and talk with friends but sometimes when I want to walk my friends aren't available. That's when I like to go to Grey's Lake because others are walking there too and I don't feel like I am walking alone. I enjoy...More

Gray's Lake offers swimming, fishing, boating, walking, biking, and a view of the river that feels secluded & natural, not very urban. Yet it's ,iterally only blocks from downtown Des Moines. Refreshing, worth it, a wonderful addition to our city.

Whenever I have the time to head towards the south side - a few laps around Grays Lake is one of my favorite things to do. Well taken care of and peaceful. I love it!

Close to downtown, perfectly located. One can easily stop here for a quick lap around the lake or rent a kayak and stay longer! The trees are great for hanging your hammock and enjoying nature.

The south entrance and area is the most grill friendly part of the park. For a another nearby family place with grills I would recommend Union park and another not too far is Cottonwood park near Saylorville Dam...
