Beautiful and such a river rich in history. The locals were biking (ending their rides as "Kickstand," fishing, walking, watching and just hanging out. So peaceful and makes the whole city!

We happened to be in Cedar Rapids during the flood of 2016 when the whole town was closed! Needless to say we did not get to see any of the town because of the flooded Cedar River. We were fortunate that it did not flood...More

With over 5 miles of length in the City, it gives a lot of different sites and views. With area that allows skiing and boating to rapids, there are views and activities for everyone.

Interesting and enjoyable to view in different seasons. Not so much in the downtown but either up or down where there is more wild life. The flood of 08 destruction of the neighborhoods and the city's development of flood plain is also interesting and provocative.

A great place to view bald eagles when ice covers the lakes. Just look in the trees and in the sky. View the destruction that this river delivered when floods covered the area in 2008.

Just sit, watch the river flow by and relax. Though autumn/winter isn't the greatest time to sit on a river bank, still liked the quietness, views and overall tranquility.

Cedar Rapids does a great job at centering events and offering public activity along side the river.
