I was pleasantly surprised to see this was not the tourist trap I thought it might be. Took the wagon tour, buggy ride and house tour. Unfortunately it was the last tour of the day so time ran out before we were able to go...More

We live nearby so the Amish life isn't anything exciting for us. For people who don't live around the Amish, this is a good place to take a tour. The food is very good but we think its pretty expensive. Paid $75 for the two...More

Easy to get to in Nappannee, IN this is a unique tourist attraction. An historic feel, but a glimpse into the life and culture of the Amish people, who are very common in the surrounding area. Beautiful grounds and ancient buildings, a restaurant with exceptional...More

We came here for the Theater and decided to enjoy a real "Homespun Meal". If you are wanting to sample some Amish food right off the farm, you will find it here. Leave you "Diet plan" at the door and loosen your belt cause they...More

Walked around the area and checked out the goods in the shops while waiting for the show to start in the Round Barn Theater on a recent fall visit. I think that is the best time to visit here, or anywhere else in the area,...More

I hadn't ate at this restaurant in years. We opted for family style. The give you ham and beans first that they advertise as thick. It was not, as a matter of fact it was pretty watered down. We got the chicken and roast beef....More

Very nice facilities but staff seem uninterested in visitors. Only one lady in the store was smiling and helpful. Everyone else seemed bored. Visited years ago and I remember it as a warm and charming place with great food. Brought my sisters so they could...More

Bought a package which included the musical Fiddler on the Roof at the round barn theatre, a Thrashers supper, and tours of the grounds. Musical was excellent. Thought the seating was uncomfortable for such a long production. The grounds are very interesting, containing an Amish...More

We loved the idea of learning about Amish customs. The people at Amish Acres are very friendly and knowledgeable. The actual attractions seem warn. We loved the theatre. The Thresher's meal at the restaurant was ho-hum...and hot foods were at best tepid.More

I think it's about 175 miles from Palatine, so probably arouond 170 from Arlington Heights. Took us just about 3 1/2 hours, but we hit some of the morning traffic around Chicago. (We left our house at 6 am).
