I've been visiting the Lanier mansion for many years, and am more impressed each time I come. They are trying to return it to its original style and decor, as much as possible. They have just recently renovated and opened up the kitchen, informal dining...More

We love history. This house definitely has it and our guide made it come alive. It's located right by the river. The tour took about 30 minutes and it was just us! There's a visitor's center and history museum right across the street . Worth...More

Took a tour of the Lanier Mansion. Very interesting and our tour guide was excellent and knew the history of the home. Nice to see how things were done back in the 1800's. Furniture was that of the 1800's. Would recommend seeing.

Lanier is a great older home to tour. Kids enjoy it as well. I took my parents and they enjoyed walking around the garden also. It is a bonus that it is right on the river.

Didn't know anything about this "Lanier" person and why he was so important to Indiana. Now I do! Tours each hour on the hour (except at noon) - only takes about 20 minutes. 3 floors and the spiral staircase is very unique. Tour guide did...More

Our tour guide was interesting, very knowledgeable, he was able to answer any question that was asked. It was interesting to see how the wealthy people lived back in the day and the way they decorated.
