An amazing place to travel back a few decades and shoot a few baskets.

This has to be one of the best secrets that Indiana has to offer. This is basically a gym, free and open to the public, which has been preserved to look as it did during the filming of the 1980's movie 'Hoosiers', which was in turn, set in the 1950's. In Indiana, basketball is something of a religion, and so... More

Just a great time with a nice gentleman guide. Learned a lot of "behind the scenes" stuff from the movie + history of the gym. Our grandson, age 9, was thrilled to shoot baskets. Well worth a short detour from I-70. Eager to watch Hooisers again!

I remember playing optimist basketball games here as a child, and running around the historic halls and classrooms. Tours are available and the community takes excellent care of it. This is a must see for anyone passing through the area.

My wife and I loved the Hoosier Gym! The gentleman that gave us our tour was enthusiastic, friendly, and very knowledgeable! I've already seen the movie 10 times...now I am going to watch it 10 more times.

What a great experience to tour the Hoosier Gym where the movie Hoosiers was filmed. As a group of 65+ y/o former players (our 45th anniversary of 'The Freudian Slips' team from Indy), we listened reverently as our most senior member read our sacred poem, 'A Basketball Player at 50' - about which we used to laugh as we read... We had a fun time at the Hoosier gym. This is a must do for all basketball fans. There was a very nice tour guide who took us in the locker room let us shoot baskets in the gym and gave us all the history about the movie and the town. it's a free tour with donations accepted.

This is the gym showcased by the movie Hoosiers. They have a small set up showing some of the basketball paraphernalia and a guide.

This was one of the coolest impromptu family excursions we have ever done. If you are a hoops, history or movie fan, this is a must see. This is officially now a community center, so it is open to the public and a cool adventure. We had a volunteer spend 40 minutes with us giving a tour and history of... More

First, we could not believe it was a free-will donation to visit! This place could easily charge, but it operates as a community rec center. The man and woman who showed us around could not have been friendlier. The gym looks exactly as it did in the movie, the large team photo that's shown at the end of the movie... More

We have loved this movie from the start. Here for the first time for an unusual event, a comedy show. Enjoyed just walking around and picturing all the history in this building. Not many changes in it's long history. Love that they still have the Hickory Banner in the gym and scoreboard lists Hickory vs Terhune. If you love the... More
