Never miss touring the Lilly House at 2pm on weekends if possible at Christmastime! The decorations and fresh florals are spectacular, and the greenhouse is decorated for Christmas too. A huge tree graced the big lawn in front of the mansion, created with large colorful children's toys! It is a short walk from the IMA along a lit greenery-lined walkway... More

The selection of artwork here is both familiar and not so familiar. So many genres and countries are represented. The gardens/architecture outside is also very well maintained. In the warmer months, exploring what's outside the museum building could take up an entire afternoon. Exploring the 100 Acres is always a treat. The atmosphere is calming and inspiring, no matter how... More

This was my second visit to this museum. The collection is varied, from all over the world and from ancient times to right now. It's a museum complex, with a modern and attractive main building, gardens, and an early 20th century mansion, the Lilly House. This last was fabulously decorated for Christmas. The main museum has lots of family-friendly activities... More

The IMA has an exceptional art collection and is perfectly located on a huge campus with gardens and historic houses. From American to European paintings, including Winslow's, Hopper's, Goya's and Renoire's pieces, to the African and Oceanic art through Asian art and Contemporary Design the 18$ you pay are really well spent.

Yes, the IMA has great exhibits and galleries filled with art. But come during the Spring and walk the gardens. They are works of art themselves. Tour the Lily House at Christmas. Check out Robert Indiana's "Love" sculpture on the front lawn. Grap lunch at the cafe (my favorite is the BLTA). Another "walking through rooms of paintings" museum? Hardly.... More

The Art Museum always has amazing exhibits, permanent collections, and the outside space is gorgeous as well. We usually ride our bikes over because the 100 Acres is simply too good to pass up. A wonderful place to spend a sunny day or a rainy/snowy one.

Every day at 1 there is a docent led tour and/or available person in the galleries with an 'ask me' badge who would love to answer any question. Four floors is sure to make every interest satisfied as well as a changing special exhibit. Make use of the headphones for extra information as you travel around. There is a museum... More

A nice modern museum that has a wide variety of artwork and collections but not near the size of the large city museums. We spent just a couple hours here and enjoyed the quiet time. A few of the collections are impressive - some more traditional and some very modern. We enjoyed visiting the Lilly House (of the Eli Lilly... More

I got to see this the other day not knowing it was even close to me. My friend was a member and she had a pass for me. The grounds kinda remind me of a smaller Biltmore. The thing that caught my eye was the young people who were there that looked like budding artists. Nice to see young people... More
