An all time favorite place to go in Indy. Enjoy the indoors, but do not miss the grounds and the Lilly House, and all of the beautiful gardens, or the 100 acres. You could spend days there and not see everything!

Small but respectable art museum with airy atrium but allow time to stroll around the grounds until you feel at home 🎶. Great care has been taken to preserve the Lily family estate with plants that may have been grown back in the day. With a dedicated staff and a slew of volunteers the acres upon which the museum and... More

World class museum, perfect for quick get away from the city life, or a nice family weekend at the museum and an estate. Excellent permanent collection. The park of Lylli estate is awesome to spend a day with family

IMA is a great medium-size city art museum. While not huge, the collection and exhibits are excellent. The special traveling and changing exhibits are always thought provoking and well curated.

The heavily renovated museum building is quite modern and has a variety of exhibits. They range from antiquity all over the world (China, Africa, Greece, and Italy) to modern art. The cafe on the first floor was run by Wolfgang Puck a few years ago and it may still be. I feel the true jewel of the IMA are the... More

The layout of the exhibits are well done. The information provided is informative especially as an educational background for each type of work. If you are young and you have not had a mother or aunt whose interests were mainly the visual arts, the museum is filled with background you can absorb in a well lighted atmosphere.

High quality collections and beautifully landscaped gardens completely exceed expectations. The museum is well laid out with extensive collections of American masters. When the weathers is nice you can spend hours exploring the botanicals and extensive plantings located throughout the grounds. You can spend the whole day at the museum. It has a nice cafeteria as well. It's a beautiful... More

I have to say that I was very surprised with this museum; it far exceeded my expectations. There are wonderful artifacts and beautiful paintings and sculptures by quiet a few Masters. There is a beautiful self-portrait of Rembrant. It is very much worth going to see, and I believe it has free admission one Thursday out of the month.

Never miss touring the Lilly House at 2pm on weekends if possible at Christmastime! The decorations and fresh florals are spectacular, and the greenhouse is decorated for Christmas too. A huge tree graced the big lawn in front of the mansion, created with large colorful children's toys! It is a short walk from the IMA along a lit greenery-lined walkway... More
