I can't say enough about the IMA and the Lilly Gardens. What a wonderful and relaxing event to do on Mother's Day. The blooms display had faded, but the grounds were still beautiful! Join the IMA & become a member!

For Mother's Day, the kids took me to the Indianapolis Museum of Art for a walk in the gardens. What a pleasant setting and plenty to see. Vegetable garden, fountains, green houses, fields, flowers, and plenty of paths to follow. We had a map but...More

Came specifically to see the temporary Audubon exhibit which was very good and then went through the museum's extensive permanent galleries of American, European, African, and Asian art. Each gallery is thoughtfully laid out and has many exquisite works of art in just about every...More

The museum, the gardens and Lily house exceeded our expectations. Great first day in Indianapolis. You might need more than one day.

It is beautiful and tons to see. But need more than one day to see it all. The cafe is nice and food was on the high side but great taste.

Art is the chicken soup of the soul. It takes you to another place and time without the travel. If you are really good you almost feel like you are there.

I'm a big fan of the Indianapolis Museum of Art. There're lots of great permanent exhibitions, but the changing special exhibitions make it worthwhile to revisit. The museum has a lot of art by Robert Indiana (most known for the 1973 LOVE stamp). Right next...More

Are there places to stop for short term parking around The Virginia B. Fairbanks Art & Nature Park? I'll have 2 small kids with me and don't think they'll be up to walking to each stop with the amount of distance between them.

Hey there~The art park you are talking about is behind the IMA. I accessed it from an exit off of 38th Street. It's right at the exit and so is a parking lot. At that lot you are right there, a few feet and you are down in... More
We had planned on taking family pictures at the 100 acre woods on Sunday, but weather says thunderstorms likely. Would we be able to take pictures inside the museum if it is raining?

The Penrod festival would be ideal....my other favorite for local artist is the Broad Ripple Art festival and Talbot Street Fair. Both are very well attended try it again this year.
