I was stationed here at Camp Atterbury back in 1982 to 1984, I was in charge of computer support for the ADSW Program. Back then it was more like dodge City without a Sheriff. Later on in the early 1990's they torn down a great deal of the old barracks and built new billeting areas, training buildings, messhalls, PX aqnd... More

Not just national guard trained here, but thousands of regular soldiers trained up here for Iraq and Afghanistan. Realistic FOB bases for the soldiers to stay at while in the field, and model middle eastern towns to train in. This is also a historical site, as it served the same function during WWII. Old passenger train cars that soldiers in... More

We stopped by to see the tanks they have out for display. They have several old military vehicles that you can walk right up to and take pictures. It was was a cool way to spend 30 minutes and best of all free!

Local training facility, but also has a gun range and outdoor hunting and fishing area for anyone to use. It's a nice place to go and spend time in the outdoors whether alone, with friends, or with family.

They have a nice display of older military equipment that is in a little park that is open to the public to view. We were looking for a county park that didn't end up being anything but saw this.

A military installation offering the standard barracks, mini-PX Shopette, a pool, and campgrounds. It is clean and has many new modern buildings.

As run down as Atterbury is, it wasn't that bad. The staff was decent and the grounds, even though were out dated, we well cared for. I was a little more motivated running, seeing the prisoners in their cage.

I am certainly not an expert on military but every time I have visited this base I am more pleased with it. I have visited with family members and I also attended camp here. Everyone has been kind and understanding. Each time I go it seems like there is more to do than the last time. I believe that it... More

Was here for DEMOBing after leaving Africa and had to stay later than some due to medical issues. The majority of the civillian staff were helpful especially at the USO and the Holding Company. Located on the site of former WWII POW barracks, plenty of history to include a POW chapel. Near Johnson Co parks.
