This is one of the MUST do when visiting Iceland. Hubby and I went on the Golden Circle tour via Reykjavik Excursions and it was fabulous, an all day adventure. We had lunch at the Geyser Hotel in main restaurant and that was fab - a delicious help yourself buffet and some nice wine too. The sites were amazing.

What an amazing place Iceland is and the natural wonders it has make it the most unique place i have ever been. The golden circle route reminded me of the Great Ocean road in Vic Australia , as around every corner there is another natural wonder. Do your homework before you go to choose the best route to take as... More

Excellent tour, saw amazing sights and the tour guide was really entertaining and informative. Well worth the £55 pp cost as its a complete day. Some walking/ steps involved so mobility key. Only downside is you change buses at "feeder stations".

We went with Stefan Helgi Valsson (there are several private guides in Iceland). Absolutely money well spent. Very knowledgable about the entire country. It was like having a close friend show you around. He made sure we were at each site well before or well after any of the big buses (and there are plenty,) dropped off herds of people.

Icelandic Excursions leave from right in the City Centre, and we were lucky to have a great tour guide called Dee Dee to inform and entertain us throughout the trip. We had originally considered the afternoon tour, but are glad we took the full day to see some awesome and fascinating sights. You get to see the stunning Thingvellir National... More

We went with Bustravel Iceland, a smaller family run company. The driver was our guide and was superb in his narration and anecdotes. The main geyser isn't as active as once before, but Strukkor - the smaller one, was a great show! The scenery is almost monochrome in the snow and it's worth spending the day out doing this tour.... There are so many Golden Circle tours to choose from and I am delighted that the lady in the tourist office suggested the Sterna company. The guide, called Gunnar or Gunni was excellent and made the tour the best one I've done in Iceland. He was so interesting and held our attention at all times. Because the bus is smaller,... More
