We were lucky enough to have friends that had been before, one had gone on a tour, the other rented a car. We compared prices and decided to rent a car. As long as you can drive a manual you're good to go, and are...More

We decided to take a chance on not taking the P & O ship tour of the same name as it seemed overly expensive at £87, on disembarking we headed straight for the quayside tour office and enquired about the Circle of Gold tour which...More

Having never visited Iceland before, this was definitely a good way of ticking off a few "must sees". We chose to travel with the Sterna Tour Company. The transport was comfortable, and the tour guide very informative. We were very lucky with the weather, and an...More

Putting aside the awful weather, we found this trip very educational and interesting. We would like to go back to the Þingvellir as we were cut short due to weather, however Geysir and Gullfoss were just breathtaking. We went on the half day trip which...More

The area is nice and has a lot of history but I was very glad we saw so much more of Iceland. It would never be my first choice, even though it's the closest to Reykjavik.

You can see three highlights of Icelandic natural grandeur in one day. I bought a ticket from the Reykjavik Excursions bus company. They pick you up from your hotel 30 minutes before the start of the tour. The guide gave us a lot of information...More

We really enjoyed this trip, so many amazing things to see. We had hired a car and so drove around the sites at our own pace. Such a magical place

Really worthwhile trip. We went with a tour company. Reykjavik so small which is lovely and the tour companies pick you up from your hotel/apartment and drop you back. The city is very well geared up for its tourists. The tour was fantastic. (Although, the...More

Get yourself a hire car and do it yourself. We took in Pingvillur National Park, Strokkur Geyser, Gulfoss Waterfall and Hella all in a day. Some amazing natural spectacles.

I went with a cruise tour but I can tell you that gas stations are few and far between and the same goes for restaurants etc. It's a long day so just a few things to consider if you're planning on a self drive thing.
