The glacier is incredible, meeting a still lagoon where large pieces of ice break up and flow to the ocean. We saw sea otters playing in the waters and walked out to the mouth of the lagoon to see the broken up ice flow into the sea. It's quite a stunning location worth seeing if you're driving the south coast.

I read the reviews of both glacier lagoon companies (which are very close to each other) then we stopped at this one. In mid-May, there were a number of people looking at the stunning view, but there was plenty of space on the shore to take photos. We walked up to the ticket window where there was no line, and... Black volcanic sand beach, floating icebergs, cold winds, and out of this world views - this is what you will experience if you venture on a 5+ hours drive from Reykjavik. This is not a daily trip excursion, it takes time to get there, and I strongly recommend that you stop in Vik overnight. Bring food and water with you,... More

Take the Ice Lagoon tour... the views were amazing and the zodiac was a hoot and we saw lots of harp seals.... we got up close to the glacier and to all the icebergs that broke off it.... a real high light of the trip. The staff were excellent and I felt totally safe!

Absolutely worth the 4.5 hour drive from Reykjavik. The sound of the ice the way it glistens when the sun comes up will leave you in awe. Take the drive

This was my favourite place in Iceland. We did a long walk around the lagoon and beach and then took a zodiac boat ride to the glacier. A great day

Never seen anything like it. Huge icebergs floating around a beautiful lagoon against a backdrop of snow capped mountains. We had beautiful weather, so after our boat trip around the lagoon and watching a giant iceberg break up and roll, we sunbathed on a black sand beach surrounded by icebergs (actually on the beach).

This entire region is stunning! Glaciers galore! Jokulsarlon Lagoon is beautiful. It's amazing to see the lake with all the stunning blues of the ice, and to see it floating off down the river and lying all over the beach. This region was an absolute highlight of our trip. We even saw a seal in the lagoon!
