We are always looking for offbeat, fun places for outings. Four years ago, we took our three teenagers to Railroad Park (and they will never let us forget it). I loved the friendly atmosphere – lots of train buffs with cameras, binoculars, and radios that...More

The R R park in Rochelle Illinois is a place to watch many types of trains on both the U P and BNSF railroads. My concern is that visitors do not understand that this is an industrial area, and you are close to the tracks....More

This is where the two train lines intersect between the Union Pacific and the BNSF. They have a nice covered shelter with picnic tables so you can view the trains. There are speakers so you can hear the engineers talking. I find this place very...More

This place used to be cool now it sucks. Since the other owners of the Gitft Shop let there is nothing worth buying in there. And way too many little kids running around. Can't even get good pictures or video

Saw many trains as usual. Our fifth visit and still love it. Well kept and friendly people (mostly). Love the small town charm of Rochelle.

Railfans and the general public would truly enjoy this park. Union Pacific's busy Geneva Subdivision runs on the north edge of the park. BNSF Railway's Aurora Subdivision runs on the south edge of the park. Combined there are about 60 to 70 trains passing each...More

okay, in the Netherlands we have many trains, every five minutes for many travelers. But this is for us, really different. Trains for goods, soo long and heavy and then the next waiting to go through Rochelle. So nearby and almost beneath the train, when...More
