Nice place to visit. We spent 90 minutes in this museum looking at fantastic memorabilia and staffed by enthusiastic staff who seem to live Route 66. Wife spent more than I would have liked but she was pleased with her purchases. Worth a visit.

My Family and I have been very involved in the Route 66 Preservation Committee, tasked with restoring and/or preserving buildings and venues along the Illinois portion of Route 66. The Hall of Fame Museum in Pontiac is an amazing collection of artifacts from the entire Illinois Route. If you are even remotely interested in history, the Museum is worth at... More

This museum is a definite must! They have so many exhibits and memorabilia! There is a Rt 66 museum,1940s room, Civil War Music Room, War Museum and much more! All the volunteers were very nice and knowledgeable. There is also a trolley which runs through town giving you a lot of information. All the museums and the Trolley are donation... More

On our way from Chicago to Springfield and decided to stop in Pontiac. The museum is small, but stuffed with artifacts. Serious Americana. The displays are old-fashioned and not interactive - so not the most fun for little ones, but interesting for adults. Admission was FREE - so definitely worth the price. The staff member who greeted us was very... More

We have been doing Route 66 and stopped in Pontiac to see the museums there. They all seem to be free, just want a donation. They have such neat things to see. I love visiting them.

We enjoyed the museum. We learned some interesting information on some of the towns we had been to on our way from St. Louis. Unfortunately the museum does not update things such as when places close, people die, or landmarks are removed. So go and realize all information is at least 10 years old.

How can anyone ever get a big enough dose of Americana? You can't, especially for the admission price of FREE. I highly encourage you to make a donation while you are there. Lot's of neat little artifacts from business's and people connected to the Mother Road of America. If you have the time to look closely, you will find it... More

A fantastic collection of Route 66 memorabilia and information for anyone planning to retrace the route and an exceptional museum host in Rose. We spent a very enjoyable hour exploring the museum.
