Although the BlackHawk statue is wrapped due to refurbishment, there are informative signs and photos of the history of the statue. And it's worth the ride up to view the Rock River and surrounds. Since it is December and cold, there were very few visitors but...More

This is a cool place to go. Lots to see and explore too. The camp ground gets a bit full on the weekends but it's still a great place to stay.

Grounds were well kept but the main attraction is covered in black plastic due to a dispute between the conservator and engineer. Nice camping area and there is a well maintained staircase from the top down to the river trail. We enjoyed a short hike...More

We didn't get to see the Blackhawk statue which was apparently getting a cleaning/facelift and was tarred but it was still a very pretty hike. Those steps to the river edge though - wow - those are a killer. Bring water and use the benches...More
