Run across the wide lawn, check out the beautiful sculptures, and you can see why this site was the elegant old Hotel Moraine back when Highland Park was a weekend destination for Chicago residents. The hotel is gone, but the gorgeous stone stairs that wind down through the ravine and to the Lake Michigan beach are worth a visit. This... More

this area is so beautiful. You go down a path to the beach. Before entering the path there are some wonderful sculptures. Love it.

Down the slope and through the woods to the dog beach we go. At first glance the park looks disappointing but take the steps down the bluff to the dog friendly beach on one side and no dogs on the other.

This is a small park that we visited on our way to pumpkin festival in highwood. We saw some of the best foliage in this park. It's very small park n there's not much of parking available. We parked on street. At the end of park, there's dog beach. If u r in area around Oct, u shud stop by.

Since it is "off grid" and not officially listed I had to review this under Moraine Park based on its proximity. However, The Coach House (aka The Coachie) is an amazing experience. Rustic interior, cathedral like ceiling, amazing fireplace and comfortable couches to kick back and let the days anxiety slid off you like butter off a hot muffin. The... More

Any season this park is great. No playground equipt meant means few kids except for those walking their dogs or just walking the trail. The walk is steep and at times slippery but the trail leads you thru the ravine and down to the beach. Just gorgeous.

After you descend the VERY steep stairs, you will see the fenced-in dog park straight ahead. (If you continue to your right, there is another section of the beach that is dog-free.) The restrooms are on the upper level, near the parking lot. You must pre-register in order to visit with your dog. To get your photo permit card, download... More
