Time your visit to this outdoor attraction during low tide. Crosby Beach to the north of the city hosts 100 iron figures cast from the artists' own bodies then erected over a three-kilometer area. Anthony Gormley's simple yet remarkable installation is especially rewarding at sunset.

Lovely winter walk

Had an invigorating walk. Really pleasant, had a coffee & a snack from the burger van. Recommended for any time of year!

My wife and I visited these metal statues on the beach at Crosby and although we were fascinated by the concept/imagery I have to say that if basic amenities/conveniences were available it would have been rated higher. Also, for young children there for any period of time, although there is a pleasant beach to play on, I guess they might... More

We went from Liverpool to see the Iron Men. We followed the first brown sign to Another Place but then the signs disappeared so it was somewhat confusing and quite a walk to the beach over the sand dunes. You must check the tide tables as many of the men are submerged at high tide. But definitely worth it all... More

I love the sea, the beach, the clean air, the ships, and at Another Place you get all this with the added bonus of Gormley statues in various levels of burial. It adds another dimension and level of interest to the location, and though at first it seems strange to see Gormley drown and appear as the tides change. Dogs... More

I've always wanted to see the statues, but was worried after reading reviews about the distance walked across the beach to get close enough to see them. I was sad to read a review from someone also disabled who couldn't get there from where he was. I have MS, I'm mobile but use a stick & cant walk very far... More

We visited on a rainy blustery day so didn't linger as long as we could have, however the attraction is totally atmospheric and absolutely stunning. It was also high tide and I would love to have come back at low tide to see more of the men but sadly time did not permit. It is fascinating to see the affects of... More

Just loved Crosby Beach, where the Mersey meets the Irish Sea. The 100 Ironmen statues scattered on the beach, some of them dressed and decorated are a sight to behold. The tides really vary here, so at times the statues are completely covered when it's high tide. .

Absolutely unique installation on the beach in Crosby. We were there with the tide mostly out so we could really get and idea of the extent of the art. Really a wonderful experience. We saw the info sign after wandering around for a while and the explanation is fascinating too. Free and free parking. GO, GO, GO!

Truly amazing. Go at high tide and low tide for very different experiences. The different figures are just fascinating and it is had to do this place justice.
