Great stay for October colors
Oct 2020 • Friends
Wonderful stay in lakeside cottage. Cute, kitchy, convenient, and very comfortable. We were expecting to 'rough' it a little and really appreciated the extra comforts. Park was bigger than I remembered, and we got in 4-5 hours of walking and never got to the western hiking trails. Great experience and will definitely be back.

Will Definitely be Going Back
Aug 2020 • Family
Spent the night in the Cabin on Top of the Hill with our 6 year old granddaughter and had a wonderful time. Cabin was very clean and had great air conditioning. This was our first visit, we were impressed and will be going back. Yes, the park could be maintained a little better, but it is run by volunteers and we give them a lot of credit. More signs would be helpful, especially to the fishing spots. Saw half the park, did some fishing, made s'mores, walked through the reptile house during a feeding, visited the butterfly house, played in the playgrounds, including the 50' slide, took a ride on the train and saw some of the statues. Excellent value and well worth the drive. This park has plenty to do to keep children busy, as well as adults. We purchased a membership to support this park.

Fun day in nature
Oct 2019 • Friends
Enjoyed seeing the native animals. Nice enclosures and most animals were visible (cooler day). Visitor center was interesting and nice gift shop. Train ride was ok. Wish we could have gone on bus ride but finished for the season.

Depressing
Jul 2019 • Family
I have visited this place several times in the past. However, this was the first time I visited along with my children. The condition of this park has really taken a nosedive. Not very many animals to see. The little bit of staff I seen within the park didn't look like they were happy to be there. It was also a very bumpy ride from the entrance to the parking area at the visitor center. Honestly, none of us enjoyed ourselves. Overall, this place is very rundown and just not what it used to be.

Lovely place for a wedding reception
Oct 2018 • Family
attended an evening wedding reception here. The banquet room was large, beautifully done and after dinner (not sure how to describe this) the outer side walls opened up and we were literally outdoors overlooking the prairie full of buffalo, deer & other wildlife. Food was catered & very good for the amount of people there. Parking lot could have been a little closer for us old folks, but it was an easy walk. All in all I would consider having an event here. The park itself is also very nice to visit and has an abundance of animal and no shortage of things to do.

Camping in a train!
Aug 2018 • Family
We loved our time at the Wildlife Park. We found lots to do and very low rates for all of it. Where can you stay overnight in a train for under $100.00? This was a great mini vacation for our family.

Overpriced
Aug 2018 • Family
I hadn't been here for at least 20 years. I wanted to take my kiddos and enjoy the outdoors. Unfortunately the $9 per person entry fee sets some pretty high expectations that did not get actualized. We went early and as such were one of the few people there. Normally we love this, but here we kept feeling like we were breaking in to a ghost town. Lights were not on in buildings (we later discovered they are motion sensored), no staff was anywhere to be seen, trails were a bit confusing, the snack shack looked desserted and never did seem up and running, and several animal exhibits were empty.

Better signage, more staff/volunteers, updated trails, and more welcoming buildings, ie. lights would go a long way in helping me feel the $9 was worth it. Also we found it odd that although the park opens at 9, the railroad, which is the first thing you pass upon entering does not begin until 10.

As it is, the Aikman Wildlife Adventure is where we will go. It's smaller, but it's more welcoming and has a variety of pricing options.

Where You Take Out-of-State Visitors
Aug 2018
We are regular members, and always enjoy our visits. We always take our out-of-state visitors here. Most see bison & bald eagles up close for the first time.

Caged squirrel?
Jul 2018 • Friends
I have not been to the Park in several years, and a group of us decided to go visit for a weekday adventure. Our disappoint throughout the afternoon grew with each and every step. At least 50% of the animals displays are empty. There are overgrown weeds and broken benches throughout the park. There were no working water fountains. And they have a caged squirrel as a display- ? The few volunteers that we saw were very kind and helpful. But for the 9.00 admission plus the 4.00 train ride, we were very disappointed in the park.

Olde English Faire
Jun 2018 • Friends
We visited for the Olde English Faire and it was well set up. Lots of neat kiosks with themed merchandise and plenty of shows to see. Fun costumes to admire as well. The highlight was the joust. A very nice park and worth a visit
