Beautiful park and views!

Beautiful park to take a walk in and take photos overlooking the city and river. Lovely perrenials and a few canons and a statue of Grant with a fountain.

We actually stumbled upon this park. We went for a walk after dinner along the Galena River and crossed the bridge to the park. There are quite a few cannons, a soaring statue of General Grant, a fountain, some benches and a playground. It's a wonderful place to sit and relax after dinner or get away from the bustling downtown.... More

Have always loved strolling through this park. You can sit and view the downtown from the east. Watch some kayaks go by and listen to children playing on the swings. Lovely 1930's or 1940's water fountain that have cherubs all around. A gazebo to chat with love ones. Amazing park.

This park covers approximately 1.5-2 city blocks. Terrain is moderate with paved walking paths and plenty of green space. The park contains a beautiful gazebo, a very nice fountain, a larger-than-life statue of U.S. Grant, multiple cannons and a picnic area with a few playground "toys". The park overlooks the Galena/Fever River and the city. Along the walkways are benches... More

Like the name suggests, this park is a tribute to President Grant. What makes it better are the statues and the view of Galena. It's not far from the Grant home and a perfect place to sit down and enjoy the day.

Many benches and shade, able to just sit and read with my dogs (mostly) sleeping on the grass next to me. Easy walk across the bridge to downtown shops. Really just a nice green space in a welcoming little town!

The first cannon used? The footing of strategic men's minds and the energy that went into leading the Union Army to victory, all here; beneath your feet. The land carries the feeling of energy of what has gone before. In the fall the trees decorate the park in gold and orange and if you choose to use the gazebo to... More
