Love this place. Top films with an intermission, an ice cream lady, a bar (and you can take your drink into the auditorium), and all in a relaxed art deco cinema. Definitely not your chain Odeon!

Came to see I, Daniel Blake on a Saturday night. £6.50 entry, yay! The film was deeply touching and I bawled my eyes out. The theatre is traditional and old in style but very well kept and in good condition. The Penistone Paramount is legendary...More

We are regular visitors and look forward to every visit. A lovely small cinema with a bar, we always go early to enjoy a pre film drink. Love the interval to get a top up, it is an enjoyable night out. We are going again...More

Arrived to find huge car park, doors opened at 7.00. Tickets from kiosk, or you can pre-book. Only one screen , comfy seats, and you can take drinks into cinema. A pleasant experience, a nice change from massive conglomerates. We will return

I came here to watch a film that my wife and I desperately wanted to see. I had few expectations apart from the fact that I had heard that they had intervals with ice creams!! What an extraordinary experience! It was like going back 54...More

What's not to love about Penistone Paramount? It's a good old fashioned cinema. Just one screen, so just one film each week. But it also has a proper bar, an ice cream lady, a choice of dress circle or stalls and the nicest staff imaginable....More

Absolute little gem of a cinema - they sell ice-cream like a theatre and have an interval half way through! Apparently you can buy a beer too but being a midday screening we opted out of this. A true eye-opener and a throwback in time....More

Its our local cinema, which has a wonderful historic feel, yet it is comfy and also clean. There is a bar available and they also have an interval when you can grab an ice cream. Always enjoy coming here.

Not sure if you had your question answered but I know of young families who do come. Especially for family films. There is an intermission too.

Both Circle and stalls are good. Benefits of the stalls is that's next to the bar! Don't forget there an intermission.

Not sure if you've been as I noted it's some months since you posted this. I've watched live shows at the front which is great but still good views at the rear. It's very good value. They're getting a brand new cinema screen... More
