We are located along the Shubenacadie (shub-en-ack-a-dee) river and offer one of the most prestigious areas to witness the world famous Tidal Bore in all of Nova Scotia. Step inside and learn about the history of the Maitland/South Maitland area (as ship building and railway communities) and the tidal bore phenomenon. Meet our friendly, knowledgeable staff and enjoy the view from our observation deck overlooking the powerful Shubenacadie River and/or our walking trail. Our walking trail is a great way to get some exercise and enjoy nature at its finest, maintained by Ducks Unlimited Canada, it offers a great look at marsh ecosystems and wildlife. We are also a Visitor Information Centre, so make sure to stop in - we can provide you with any information you need, locally or provincially. We are open mid-May to mid-October

Good spot (area) to view Fundy tidal impact on the inland river system. Interpretive centre gives a good overview. Path takes you down to the river view station. Great picture location. Check tide references for optimal times.
