Such history and interesting place. Dekalb treasures this gift of the Ellwood family and lovingly takes care of it as well as passing along the tales of the early days of the families involved. Beautifully decorated for Christmas.

A fascinating tour of time long past. Richly decorated and very much practical for a family of the times. Also check out the Museum which highlights the city where barb wire was created.

Docents are very knowledgeable about the property. Home is kept in great condition with many period furnishings. Not good for people with walkers or wheelchairs. Lots of stairs.

Visited on a cold, cloudy Saturday for the tour during the Christmas season. This was not the holiday open house, but a basic tour that happened at the time they had decorated for the season. Every room had a lovely tree or vintage Christmas touch,...More

Maybe this wasn't the first choice of what to do on a Sunday afternoon for my 19-year-old college student, but in the end we both enjoyed our tour of Ellwood House Museum. It was beautifully decorated for Christmas, and we were allowed to see all...More
