As a high school community we've seen every staging of "The Nutcracker" since its inception and continue to be transported time and again. When the House says "Once Upon A Time..." the psychological guards go down and my students find themselves alive in a world...More

Wow! What a great adaptation of a traditional story. Every seat in the house is a gem. The snack bar has a full bar with a great selection and the chocolate cake looked divine. Afterwards walk around the corner about two blocks south on Milwaukee...More

Awesome production! Close setting, emotional, smiles, laughing. Everything you would want in a Christmas production. We look forward to our next experience.

Interesting twist on an old classic. Well performed. Liked the set and "in the round" as well as the intimate venue (like a house). The Rat King theme to me was just odd, and disappointing that this became the real theme of the play.

We saw the Harry Houdini show and it was entertaining. The small theater lead to an intimate, exciting environment. The actors engaged the audience and we left with a smile on our face!

Great show, very small theater but excellent acting and magic. Took our 13 year old grandson and he loved it.

This small theatre only seated about 130 for the Death and Harry Houdini performance we saw last Saturday. The theatre lobby is tiny without much room for sitting or hanging out while waiting for the show to start. There was a small cash bar and...More

Once an up-and-coming new theatre group--the "darling" of Chicago's critics (e.g., Chris Jones)--now after well over a decade of producing ALL original plays in arguably the toughest theatre city in the USA, The House Theatre of Chicago has really come into its own. No other...More
