Early on Christmas Eve, we attended the Children's Pageant and were warmly welcomed by the regular parishioners. The church was packed, the lighting of the angels near the ceiling dramatic, the music lovely, and the children's participation utterly delightful, including great costumes and boisterous singing from the children's choir. Thank you to all of the church regulars and officiants.

This church is absolutely beautiful. You can walk in so long as there is no service going on (unless you are staying for service of course). The architecture of this church is nothing short of amazing. Definitely a place for any age to see

We were in the area when we spotted this church. Wife wanted to take a look. It was a wonderful surprise. Really beautiful church and courtyard. Also they had a Gallery Hall(It was a Shakespeare inspired exhibit.) Stick around and take some pictures.

Wow! Very unexpected. Fronts Mag Mile. The doors are always open during the day . . Just walk in. Who would have expected this magnificence in the middle of Chicago?!

Stop in to 4th Presbyterian Church for a nice respite during your shopping trip to North Michigan Avenue. Historically relevant and gorgeous architecture.

I had a member's only tour with the Chicago Architecture Foundation. We saw the Gratz Center and the church proper. If you are in the area of John Hancock, you must go in this church and see it. Try to get a tour though so you know what you're seeing. You do not have to be religious to appreciate this... More

In the middle of busy shopping and sightseeing, it was best to find this quiet place to slow down and reflect. Its Gothic style is a high contrast to the modern plain Hancock centre across the street, with beautiful stone craving at the front and stained glass inside. There is a beautiful organ also. I was surprised it is a... More

If you're roaming around Michigan Avenue anywhere near the Hancock or Water Tower, stroll along the west side of the street. You can't miss this beautiful church. Chances are it's open and welcoming. Go in quietly and respectfully. Enjoy the spectacular windows, organ pipes and woodwork. Enjoy a few minutes of quiet contemplation just steps away from the noise and... More

Came here for the 9 a.m. service this morning and enjoyed it. The church itself is truly beautiful and very impressive. Everyone was very friendly and the service was nice, but I particularly enjoyed the great organ in this church. The organist used it well and there are ranks of pipes in different sections at the front of the church,... More

2nd visit to Chicago this year and always love being downtown. I just love the courtyard and the respite from the 'city' and that this church is always open. I think that is the way churches should be, open to the public. Completely worth stepping in and admiring this beautiful architecture!
