Great ride! Personable driver. Our horse was Chief. Ask for Nicole at the carriage stand. She knows tons about horses. Great Lakes Carriage Company.

I wish I could remember the Carriage drivers name. She was wonderful. She let us just enjoy the city with a ride and was very attentive with questions.

A carriage ride in the winter in Chicago is very romantic. Cuddle up under the blanket and enjoy the view of the mid-west's most spectacular city

We planned on purchasing a ride in the carriage, but before we did, we wanted to take a photo of us sitting in the carriage because we thought it would be cute. The woman I asked was incredibly rude and just said "NO!" I understand legalities and liabilities but there was no reason to be that rude. I really wish... More

We took the Carriage ride to help us get familiar with the area around the Ritz Carlton. Rush Street is a must and we went back a couple of times. The city did a great job with the dining, bars, parks, and residential housing. The guide was knowledgable and this was one of the best local tours we've taken. Gave... More

Four people are the same price. With an hour they take you to past historic homes and high end retail. Carriages line up by the water tower near the Hershey and Giradelli stores

I arranged an ride with Chicago Carriage for me and my then-girlfriend in early April as a surprise marriage proposal; I had travelled from Ireland and had put a lot of effort into the whole thing. Chicago Carriage took full payment for the service (it was an extortionate amount but that's a story for another day) but did not fulfil... More

We had never done this before, and what a treat! We started by the Hershey store and could take several routes. The driver was very knowledgeable as we rode through downtown Chicago and pointed out many historical sites and homes. It was very relaxing and a lovely experience. Prices were reasonable.

After lots of shopping, this was a treat. The driver was friendly, the carriage comfortable and clean. This was a different pace and we saw several things we had driven right by earlier and did not notice. Very nice!

Staying in Magnificent Mile

Neighbourhood Profile
Magnificent Mile
Over 400 stores pack the concrete along Michigan Avenue, the eight-block stretch known as Magnificent Mile. This area between Oak Avenue and the Chicago River is more a shopping paradise than a full-out neighborhood. For prime upscale shopping, this is the place to go. It’s busy, energetic, and packed with shoppers. You'll also find hundreds of restaurants and dozens of hotels, all on the mid- to high-end scale. Some of the city’s most iconic buildings like the Wrigley Building, John Hancock Center and other architectural marvels define the magnificence of this neighborhood.
