We took the water taxi from Shedd's Aquarium to the Navy Pier. WE had already take the Architectural boat tour on the river so this was and economical way to see the skyline from the lake. Nice ride only about 15 minutes and $10.00

If you're a long-time resident, you may not want to go on a pricey and touristy boat, but then there is the Chicago Water Taxi which operates its boats on a closed loop route on the Chicago River connecting commuters and tourists to their destinations...More

We have taken water taxis all summer long on our visits. Very inexpensive and efficient way to get around town! And a neat way to see the city as well. Highly recommend!

The water taxi is truely the best way to save some miles on your feet and for $8 gives you a great vew of the Chicago skyline. In windy weather, plan on getting wet if you're sitting outside. We did....and loved it!!

There are several tours of downtown Chicago from the river. Some are very pricey. The Chicago Water Taxi allows you to ply the same river for a fraction of the cost.

If you don't want to take one of the architecture river cruises this is a great alternative. There are three different routes and if you buy a day pass you have unlimited rides for 24 hours

This is the activity that shows you Chicago the quickest way. The buildings are beautiful. A trip on water gives you a more relaxed feel, sitting and leaning back, the wind and sun all over you. I think this activity included the Lock where the...More

Magnificent Mile
Over 400 stores pack the concrete along Michigan
Avenue, the eight-block stretch known as Magnificent
Mile. This area between Oak Avenue and the Chicago
River is more a shopping paradise than a full-out
neighborhood. For prime upscale shopping, this is the
place to go. It’s busy, energetic, and packed with
shoppers. You'll also find hundreds of restaurants and
dozens of hotels, all on the mid- to high-end scale.
