Compared to other modern art museums around the country (and around the world), MCA compares badly. The collection isn't first-rate, with very little that's truly amazing. Although I'm a fan of modern art, I find few pieces here to enjoy -- most I think are...More

Saw large excellent exhibits of works by Enrico David and several photographers. Missed free dance concert because we ate at the very good museum restaurant. Staff warm and helpful. Reasonably priced.

this is a comfortable space to view art. not too large as museums go. easily accessed, just off Michigan Ave. I have come here for years. I want to comment on reviews from others: consistently, this museum has mounted contemporary art that challenges. It is...More

Hi Jeffrey, Thank you for being a repeat visitor to the museum, and I’ll be sure to pass your kind compliment along to our staff about their t-shirt!

Firstly I have to admit that I am a cultural philistine when it comes to modern art. I didn't 'get it' before I visited and am afraid I still don't. I gave it another try partly because the weather was poor and to see if...More

Hi Andrew, Thanks for giving the MCA a shot! We strive to display thought-provoking works of art, just like the Impressionists did in their day.

Excellent 1st visit to MCA w/Chicago resident friend. We saw just one exhibit and the gift store, a great way to spend a cloudy Sunday afternoon. A membership is a must here - this is not a place to hurry through but rather to savor...More

I went for the Calder mobiles they had on exhibit. Those plus the building itself were worth the trip. Not much of the art was worth mentioning. Pretty much exactly what people who don’t like modern art talk about. The museum is good sized, but...More

Hi Illinoisnow, I just wanted to clarify that our gift shop is multiple levels connected by our staircase, but your description was spot on: the first floor has clothing, home goods, and jewelry, while the second floor has books, cards, and items for kids and...More

The museum is open until 9pm on Fridays, which is a nice touch for visitors. We had a reservation at Marisol (the restaurant within the museum) late on a Friday evening, so we bought admission to the museum itself first. The space is lovely--bright, airy,...More

What an original museum ! The Internet exhibit on the top floor is one of the most original museum exhibits I've seen on the impact of the internet on society in the last 10 years.

Streeterville is where visitors head for play at Navy
Pier, a pseudo amusement park and development of
restaurants, shops, rides, and other activities.
You’ll find lots of action and excitement on the
docks. Along the pier, you’ll see the statue of the
captain for whom Streeterville is named. While you
enjoy your fair share of sightseeing at the pier, you
can also visit other popular attractions there such as
