We were here as part of our Route 66 roadtrip. This is a very pleasant area of the city with good shopping and a relaxed atmosphere.

For years, I've been loving the walk from Randolph Street up to Oak Street Beach. This time I only got as far as "Big John", but love all the buildings and the sights. Worth a couple of hours, easily.

First you should get a hotel that is near to the Magnificent mile. Then just go outside and start walking down it. You can do a daylong wonderful shopping and eating trip stopping whenever you like. The buildings and architecture you will see will amaze...More

What a great city to visit. This area provides access to so much in terms of retain, restaurants and activities. Chicago is so much cleaner than most comparable cities and a great experience during summer months.

It is definitely magnificent! All the most expensive clothing, jewelry and restaurants you can think of: Burberry, Zara, Bloomingdales, Cartier, Michael Jordan's Restaurant featuring $87 steaks! You see all the wealthy people falling out of the hotels and shops and into their waiting cars ......More

Just about everything for anyone can be found. Food, clothing, souvenirs, etc. Don’t expect to find parking. Go to a lot, put on your walking shoes and explore

It's a lot of stores. Not my bag of tea, but if you have an avid shopper or designer brand fan in the group, they may enjoy it. Definitely crowded during peak tourism months.

We stayed in downtown not for shopping but this street is still very attractive. Old brown stone buildings with high rise modern buildings as background, past and future mixed really well. Love the street side gardens. Many famous churches and restaurants along the street.

Over 400 stores pack the concrete along Michigan
Avenue, the eight-block stretch known as Magnificent
Mile. This area between Oak Avenue and the Chicago
River is more a shopping paradise than a full-out
neighborhood. For prime upscale shopping, this is the
place to go. It’s busy, energetic, and packed with
shoppers. You'll also find hundreds of restaurants and
dozens of hotels, all on the mid- to high-end scale.

If I were you I would park it out in Rosemont or one of the outer lots and take the train into the city. Less hassle.
