One of the most exclusive and beautiful part of Chicago. A high array of dining and shopping. From water place to John Hancock and steps to the famous oak street beach

We enjoyed our day shopping and walking along the busy North Michigan Avenue. There are so many opportunities to browse and shop; Nordstrom, Apple, Nike and so many restaurants. We especially enjoyed the opportunity to take a boat tour of the city.

My husband and I took a weeklong vacation to Chicago for some R&R. We stayed at the Marriott on the Magnificent Mile, allowing us to be in close proximity to restaurants, shops, movies and more. Everything was conveniently located.

This area of Chicago is a must see! The beautiful gardens alone are worth seeing, but the dining and upscale shopping is every girl's dream. If you can dream it - it's here.

Lots of stores, a few rolling hills, plenty of great restaurants. Good people watching. Some unique store, most high end and mid range ones as well.

It's my third time staying in a hotel on Michigan Avenue. It is like fifth avenue in New York just the people are way friendlier. The strip is nicely kept with flowerbeds, beautiful people, awesome restaurants, nice hotels, historic buildings and unlimited shopping opportunities for...More

This is a must see in chicago even if you're not here for the shopping. It's a nice stretch of street to walk and people watch or window shop.

Early this morning I walked Michigan Avenue. What a fabulous street. Certainly full of the entire range of retail but also very enjoyable from a planning and architectural point of view. A must walk.

Magnificent Mile
Over 400 stores pack the concrete along Michigan
Avenue, the eight-block stretch known as Magnificent
Mile. This area between Oak Avenue and the Chicago
River is more a shopping paradise than a full-out
neighborhood. For prime upscale shopping, this is the
place to go. It’s busy, energetic, and packed with
shoppers. You'll also find hundreds of restaurants and
dozens of hotels, all on the mid- to high-end scale.

Staying at Hyatt Regency in Rosemont (Chicago) and have never been before. Need some ideas for 2-3 days. Going to a convention there Aug.2017 for a Fest. Would like to arrive at least a couple days beforehand but not sure what there is to do, and how many days before would be good. Convention is on a Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Yes with a good pair of runners or walking shoes.
Do you need a rental car or can you walk to whalers village, or shopping, restaurants etc? Is there a local shuttle or bus? Can you ride bus to airport?
