There is not much to say. One has to experience it. I leave in Chicago for almost 40 years and this tour opened my eyes. Go ahead and enjoy.

Quite simply, they are the best. The reason they are so good is that you don't just walk around and have a guide say, "Here's another building." The tours each have a theme which becomes a narrative. On "The Evolution of the Skyscraper" tour, for example, by seeing certain buildings in chronological order and hearing of the changes in design... More

After doing a couple of the tours from CAF, I joined because I found all of the walking tours, bus tours, and events so enlightening. Chicago is so alive with architectural history that continues to grow and evolve. Being part of the foundation helped me learn about a city new to me.

I had the pleasure of spending a cold Saturday morning in March enjoying an Architectural Tour of Chicago run by the foundation. It was informative, fun and enlightening. A great way to see parts of Chicago off the main tourist track. It was a bus tour with a few walking stops. Well worth it!

I love Chicago architecture . From the legendary Frank Lloyd Wright, high rise buildings of Mies Van der Rohe, Louis Sullivan , the foundation has all the information about the different tours whether walking, bus, or by boat.

Although it was November, my mother and I thoroughly enjoyed our Chicago River architectural tour. We'd been wanting to go for years and finally did. It could not have been better. Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and the sunny day made for great views. Though suburban natives, we learned new facts and details about many of the buildings, as... More

I took the historic skyscraper tour. It took 2 hours and we went in and out of buildings. The docent guide was knowledgeable and funny and made it very interesting. It sure made me look at the buildings again differently and i learnt a lot! I wish i had time for another tour.

My friend and I were looking for a way to learn about some of Chicago's historic buildings but also wanted to maximize time outside. The Historic Skyscraper tour was perfect for this! it was a brisk 30 degree day but our docent kept us moving enough that it never felt to cold. The historical knowledge from our docent was top... There are so many tours they conduct so I couldn't decide which one online. I just walked in based on my other schedule and asked if there was one coming up and went on "Modern" - 90 min walking tour focused on the modern concept of steel buildings. We all got ear pieces so it was easy to hear. It... More
