Step into our light-filled, open spaces and see our wonderful Peter Sis murals, colorful TeenSpace, quiet meeting rooms, Latte Da! Cafe, and FriendShop Bookstore. The library, at 200 W. Green St., is open Monday–Wednesday 9-9; Thursday–Friday 9–6; Saturdays 10-6; Sundays 1-6. Our Douglass Branch Library is located on the edge of Douglass Park. Stop in for a great selection of books, DVDs, and CDs, plus friendly service, free Internet access, and public meeting space. Open M-Tu 10-8 | W-F 10-6 | Sat 10-4; Closed Sunday

Large, modern comfortable building. Latest technology. Outstanding free public presentations, lectures, etc. Excellent wide ranging collection. Being a public library in a world class university town has real advantages.

Surprised at the size of this library its quite spacious easy to walk round and there is seating if needed.

Usually if there's a book of general interest that I need, it's likely to be there. For example, when planning a trip there are plenty of travel books. Also the bookstore is good to make purchases of mostly discards. There's a small coffee shop, too....More

Thank you for your nice comments both about the library and the Friendshop. I'm sorry if the fines and fees seem too much. If you are interested, I can suggest a couple of ideas that can help avoid missing due dates and fees.

I have been to the library as a alternative for UIUC and Parkland libraries. The CPL has a wide range of books and movies. Great place for studying

As a foreign visitor I did not expect a public library to be so open and extremely valuable especially regarding small kids. The books and all the play stations with building blocks, and educational table games made our stay there a fun and instructive one....More

We have been going here forever. I love the size of this place and all that they have to offer. There is a little cafe that I also recommend. Great place for families.
