Just a spoiler alert, I used to live in the Sun Valley area and boy, DO I MISS IT! Sun Valley is UNPRETRENTIOUS! though there are PLENTY of high end restaurants and things to be done. It is a very down to earth place. There are hot springs nearby, and the skiing, oh the skiing! It is FABULOUS! And the... More

Baldy is one of the best ski area and mountains in the U.S. With enough snow the entire mountain is skiable and the groomers are the best around. Nobody grooms a mountain better than the Sun Valley crew, like carpet.

I Love the ski hill! Long runs, fast lifts, no lift lines. The black diamond runs are quite steep compared to most other mountains. Nice restaurants, easy access, a real deluxe ski experience.

Quaint shops and a few restaurants. The Hotel has a fantastic spa. The indoor and outdoor ice rinks are fun. Hikes, bikes, golf, and tennis aplenty but you need to plan to make your own fun. Be aware of the early closing hours for just about everything in the off season.

There are bigger ski mountains. There are ski resorts with more challenging terrain. There are places that receive more snow. And there are definitely places that are more accessible, But after skiing at most of the major ski areas in North America, I would say that Sun Valley is my favorite. For me, it is the perfect combination of a... More

It's Sun Valley! What else to say as with everything here it's luxurious, big, fancy, accommodating, and filled with several so called ENTITLED patrons that will let you know it. So where your music to block those folks out and you have yourself a ton of acreage, terrain, runs, lodges, and lifts. This hill will thrill all ages and abilities... More

Had a great time at Sun Valley, even though it hadn't snowed recently, the conditions were still great. Groomers do a good job on about half of the trails, creating a very satisfying "hard pack" trail which is (in my opinion) the best snow condition for a snowboarder! Other trails were left alone, but were still great thanks to how... More

Of all the places I have skied, including places in Colorado, Montana, and Switzerland, the ski lodge/chalet at Sun Valley's River Run is by far the best! It's a beautiful 2-story log structure with a full bar, an amazing dinning area, super comfortable and plentiful seating, gorgeous fireplace, and lots of storage. It has well designed logistics for carting all... More

Sun Valley has done a wonderful job of celebrating its history as the first ski resort in the country. You can see the first chairlift in the country, the barn of the original owners of the land and the photos of many celebrities on the walls of the Sun Valley lodge. It is a unique place in the middle of... More
