We flew into Stanley airstrip, Johnny was there right on time to pick us up and quickly get us down to the shop where we met our guides (Casey, and Troy). In no time we were down the river, on the river, and in the river fishing. No waiting around, we were fishing before we knew it. We fish the... More

After many years of visits to Stanley and fishing from shore, we signed on for a guided trip in a wooden fishing boat. Troy was an excellent teacher, teaching me how to fly cast. My husband knew very well how to catch fish on a fly line and proceeded to succeed. We kept 2 hatchery rainbows and loved seeing the... More

I saw Salmon River Anglers as we drove into Lower Stanley for the first time but didn't stop because I wanted to get to our rental house and situated. The next day we were fly fishing on the Salmon River early - with little success. That evening we went into Salmon River Anglers and spent time talking with Troy, who... More

No exaggeration… the best river/fishing trip I’ve ever taken. I’ve rowed the most of the big rivers in the west in my own boats. But it is a totally different and pleasurable way to spend a day, a week, even a few hours. The guides are master boatmen and fishermen and women. The food was amazing and the scenery unmatched.... I've been on many great fishing trips and this rates at the top of the list. We had incredible fishing AND an amazing adventure in one of the most spectacular wilderness areas in the world. The guides were top notch, the food was terrific and the overall experience was super. I highly recommend it!

We were 2 rookie fly fishergirls & guy. We had some great instruction in the basics on dry land before we hopped in the raft to drift down the Salmon. Our guide was gracious knowledgeable & patient. Boy was he patient! He untangled all our tangles & re-flied our lines every time we lost one on a weed or rock.... More

My husband and I booked a trip to fish the Salmon just south of Stanley and Troy proved to be a fantastic guide. He was super knowledgeable about the river, where to find fish and helped us get back in the groove of casting a fly after we had not done it in a long time. Caught LOTS of cutthroat,... More

The Salmon River near Stanley Idaho is one of few locations where you can drift fly fishing and white water raft on the same trip. The guide service provided lunch and all necessary equipment;they deliver on their promise. Ian the guide, gave advance notice on where to cast the fly line as the river pulled us downstream. The guide rowed... More
