Learning spot

It's a good stop to learn the history of the area and especially the role of Sacajawea. It's a very pretty view. You should stop by if you have the time to explore and learn

I happen to be staying in Salmon and I ended up at the center because....it has a lot of Pokestops. BUT I was blown away by the quality of the experience for such a small park. It is absolutely beautiful. I loved the nature trail which takes you through meadows and streams. What an oasis. The center staff were friendly... More

What a wonderful place to learn about Sacagawea. Beautiful scenery all around. Excellent indoor and outdoor displays and scheduled exhibitions. Kids will really get a true picture of how important she was to Lewis and Clark and her sacrifices to help us.

This center was the main reason for our traveling to Salmon. The room has good historic notes about Sagagawea, and the grounds are nice for an easy hike. There are teepees and other structures in an attempt to recreate a feel for the historic Native American village. There is a lovely statue of this important woman who served as interpreter... More

Nice area surrounded by mountains that are breath taking. This is a very easy walk. Not very crowed. Does not cost anything to go through the area. Has some nice displays of Lewis and Clark era.

Great visit for tour and for a hike around the beautiful interpretive trail. Sat for some time visiting with relatives we came to visit in the shade of the over hanging roof. School class came to visit while we were there.

We stopped here because friends had volunteered here during the summer and we were curious. The museum is small and required a lot of reading to get the story. There are several films to watch but we didn't take the time. There are 1.5 miles of walking trails with interpretive signs and displays which was very enjoyable and a fun... More

The visitor center is not that big, but is nice and there is a good film available. I especially enjoyed the walk with interpretive signs.

Nice job in teaching the history of Sacagawea and the Lewis & Clark expedition. Watch the video that is shown on request. Next door at the nature center is a field that is restored to how the valley looked in the 1800's before the white man screwed it all up. A nice interpretive trail makes a loop through the field.
