We drove through the wilderness area and it is beautiful. Some of the driving is "interesting" for the driver. An enjoyable afternoon.

We travelled through the Sawtooth mountains en-route from Sun Valley to Mackay and back. Even stopped near the top for a country music jig - it's awe inspiring up there.

We were there at the beginning of October. Cold but beautiful. When we started hiking in the morning I realized just how remote we were with no cell phone service. Came home and ordered an emergency whistle.. Just to be prepared for the next time.

This area is every bit as beautiful as Canada's Banff NP or Glacier NP . Trails were well maintained, with lots of foot traffic. We accessed the Sawtooth Wilderness at Stanley.

first time going to the Sawtooth mountains and it was worth the drive north from Ketchum. Went to Alturas lake and sat by the lake and there was not a sound a great afternoon with an incredible view.

Love the Sawtooth Wilderness. First snow fall of the winter with the aspen turning color makes for a beautiful view. Highly recommended any time of year.

We hiked several day trails to lakes. The smoke detracted from the experience, but all the lakes were lovely.
