Beautiful and evocative Hotel , now closed and boarded up awaiting conversion ( if ever ) into apartments , worth a stroll and a look to ponder the grand days of the Lido and the genteel classes of Europe taking their leisure.

The hotel is a gem of fine architecture and decor - alas it was closed for renovation on my last trip but it is worth looking up for drinks on the terrace when it re-opens.

I have read this place closed down after a fire some years ago. We stayed here in 2007 and wanted to stay again. Need another good hotel to stay in same area.

We passed by and took some photos. It's all boarded up, and the whole site closed off. Very sad that we'll never get to visit or drink a Spritz in the bar overlooking the lagoon.
