An extremely knowledgeable guide included into the ticket price. Gives a good impression for the amount of work put into this Europe’s newest large fortification. Tip: For the kids, there are mountain bikes for hire to have their own exploration in the larger area. The kids in our group (15 and 11) loved it. Spent three hours there including lunch.

Salpa Line Museum is a really interesting museum! You can watch a short movie about the history of the Salpa line and join a tour around the outer part of the museum. Our guide told us many interesting details about the different bunkers and ways of defence. We spent about 3h exploring the museum and enjoyed also lunch in the cafeteria.

Only an hour from Kotkanssari, Kotka, it killed a couple of hours on my day off from work, interesting to see the line, even thou it wasn't used in the war, good example of history from the world war 2 era, and how the Finnish built this to protect them selves from the Russians.
