As locals we have been many times. It is a different experience than typical gardens which tend to be more lush, and focused on plants. The Idaho garden is a completely outdoor experience, with lots of walking (including an opportunity to hike on dirt trails in the foothills). It is a more arid garden focused on natural plants. Also the... More

The Botanical garden does a great job in offering all 4 seasons. During the Holiday, A Winter-A-Glow, in the spring an amazing display of bulbs, summer the rose garden is fantastic among all their other treasurers and fall a blanket of textures that can only come from thoughtful planning. A beautiful oasis just outside of town.

Went here for a company picnic and what a great place to hang out! The paths are clear and easy to navigate and it feels like a little getaway without really going anywhere! If you love the outdoors, this is a place to experience! Highly recommend to any outdoor lover!

We made a short stop at the Idaho Botanical Gardens and wish we had planned better. The 50 acre park, which contains about ten separate gardens is well kept and organized and has lots to see and do. Next time we'll bring a picnic and spend the whole afternoon. The botanical garden is located on the Old Penitentiary grounds and... More

We went here on a Saturday afternoon. We were going to go to the Old Idaho Penitentiary but it was closed that afternoon, so we decided to give the garden a try. Surprisingly it exceeded our expectations and we enjoyed the garden so much. It's definitely a gem/oasis next to Old Penitentiary. We were very impressed with garden's beauty and... More

One of the nicer botanical gardens I've ever visited. Small, but lots to see. I love Idaho's scenery and beauty and the botanical gardens definitely captures this.

So enjoyed this botanical garden. Spent about an hour and half strolling through on a beautiful day. So enjoyed the park, end of summer, mid fall so not a lot in total bloom but the scenery and location made it all so pleasant. The entrance fee was totally inline with the size of the garden.

The Idaho Botanical gardens is a great place to visit on a Sunday Afternoon or any day actually! I have been there multiple times, but I really enjoy going there during the Christmas Holiday Season! The lights, attractions and Hot Chocolate make it a great family experience! In fact I'm going back in a few weeks with my co-workers to... More

They have several events for all ages all times of the year. Last winter we took the kids for a winter lights walk about. TThe had free hot cocoa, Apple cider, and cookies. And the place was little up so amazingly. We have gone to a couple other events there and never dissapointed! I highly recommend going anytime of the... More

I am spoiled because I am a member of Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, PA one of the premier gardens in the country, but this is a very nice garden. There is a very good mix of native plants as well as plants brought in from other regions. This garden is supported entirely by admissions and memberships and doesn't enjoy... More
