The Table Rock Section of the Boise Ridge to River trail system is a short but somewhat steep hike behind the Old Penitentiary and Botanical Gardens off of Warm Springs in East Boise. This is a full sun, no available water hike, so plan accordingly. Some people jog or ride their mountain bikes (wow!) while the rest of us just... More

We visited Boise in March 2017 and hiked the Ridge to River Trail System every day. There are trails and allow dogs off leash and we hiked for several hours each day. We plan to return on our next visit!

This little stroll is a refreshing getaway from the city. Not real aesthetic yet quiet. Pretty easy walk, could be challenging for bike.

Rented bikes and rode for hours, beautiful setting and very good paths. We are frequent riders, but decided to get cruisers and that was a good choice - very flat, casual riding.

This is a nice, well done trail in the heart of Boise. The trail is quite easy for a hiker, with some hills, nothing extreme. Go early in the morning on hot days as there isn't shade!

We have countless great trails to hike/bike in Boise. Get a Ridge to River map as you will need it since we have so many trails. They are all well maintained and cherished by all that use them.

The Tablerock trail in the East Boise foothills is a great trail. It is a very popular and safe trail. It is fairly steep, but I saw all ages and abilities hike this trail. There isn't a lot of shade, so go on the trail when it is cooler. The view of Boise is fantastic, especially at sunset.
