Well, it is a piece of history, and it looks amazing. The carving on the side of the huge mountain and the fountain below it just looks majestic. It is worth seeing it. You need to know though, if you are very much against Confederacy, you should probably skip coming here.

This is a very impressive thing to see. Took almost a century to complete. Three sculptors. If you are a son of the South, regardless of your politics, you should see.

There is a history behind the carving and a stigma also because it is of Confederate generals. The Museum helps you learn all about it. There is also a light show at night, but we were not there for that.

Had a couple days business here and used the off hours to see Stone Mountain. I'm an American history fanatic so it was on my list. Not a fan of Confederate history but history it is just the same

Don't sweat the $15 per vehicle entry fee. The money is used very wisely by keeping everything clean and enjoyable. Security is constantly patrolling and every employee was friendly. The carving is awesome and there are plenty of other shops and events to enjoy.

Unfortunately, a large part of the park was closed. However, we enjoyed the tram ride to the top, walking around (getting pictures) and coming back down!

If you like to be outside and the weather is nice, it is definitely worth the drive to Stone Mountain. Take the time to explore the whole mountaintop, and just sit and relax while taking in the views.

We went in the off season with my teenage daughter while visiting a potential college for her in Atlanta. Everything but the cable car was closed but we still had a great time. It's in a beautiful area. Nice walking/hiking ails around the lake and down the mountain. The carving itself was amazing to see, but we both appreciate art... More

We enjoyed the trolley car up to the top of the mountain and the view. So much fun although we had to leave early due to the weather.

If you live near Georgia and can't afford to go to Mt. Rushmore, there's always Stone Mountain. ..The train ride offers a short history lesson.
