Everytime I am in the area I go to the Pier. The locals are the best group of folks to talk to and watch fish. It is just a great place to just sit and exhale.

Great walk to the end of the pier. Saw people fishing and crab traps as well as artists. Great view of the lighthouse and coast

Love this area. So beautiful. Nice pier. Good place to go crabbing. Lots of free parking, places to sit, playground, bathrooms, and shops/restaurants.

Great views, great breezes, has a safe and cool feel to it. There will be lots of people fishing and crabbing from the pier. You can see dolphins here regularly. Good spot for sunset.

The pier is located in the village. The whole area is developed nicely for walking and this is a nice place to catch a breeze, watch the fishermen, or see the Sunset. Helps one get out of that hurry up mode.

Visited the pier while in town. Lots of fishermen. Great breezes off the water. Lights at night so you can enjoy day or night.

Lots of people fishing off the pier and a few even catching. People watching is as much fun as ocean watching. Great place to spend some time enjoying the ocean.

We loved watching the sun set here so much that we came back twice. You shouldn't miss this stop in the Pier Village. Great places to shop and eat.

Questions & AnswersAsk a question
Do we need a fishing license to fish off of this pier? If so, do they sell them there?

Apparently yes, but of the hundreds that fish there, no one does. I have asked at the local fishing tackle store as well and they told me not to bother with one.
Hello, I live in Jacksonville, Fl. I am trying to decide if I should go fishing at the Jekyll Island pier or the St Simons pier. Any thoughts or advice? Thank you

I have only Ben to the St simons pier. I have seen a wide variety of fish caught here, including shrimps, blue crab, small hammerhead sharks, etc. I have also seen a lot of people getting collectively skunked. That said it... More
