I wasn't expecting a whole lot from Fort Frederica, but I was very surprised. It wasn't just a fort, but an entire walled town with a fort at one end. Foundations for several of the houses are still visible, along with helpful outdoor signage including...More

Fort Frederica is a must for history lovers. It's not somewhere that you will spend hours but it is neat to see. We got to see an archaeology dig and they let my 12 year old help sift for artifacts. They also showed us artifacts...More

This site is absolutely fascinating! We walked the whole grounds and were really astounded by the history. It's amazing what's in your own state that you are unaware of.

This historic site is an awesome place to visit! It is free and there's a very well done 23 minute video that really explains the significance this place played in the history of The United States! They have "dress up" clothes for the kids to...More

This is a great place to visit. The short film was very educational on the history of St. Simons Island. Would highly recommend this.

Definitely for the history lover and for those with a little curiosity. A lot of the original buildings/homes are gone but their foundations still remain. Fascinating architecture and building materials were used.

Nice little remnants of a fort. Wish the building were more. Hope what is left remains for future. If you come use the audio tour with your phone and the qr code spots. Learn a lot and brings the town to life.
