The house is very old and the gardens are well maintained. If you're visiting because you love history---start with the house. If you're visiting because you love nature, start with the Gardens!!! There's so much to see and learn!!

We visited a bit out of season so no flowers but a lovely arboretum, great walking trails and you can drive most of the area as well. The house is restricted access but you can get in via the trolley tour from the visitor centre.

I went here twice, to go bird watching, and I am ashamed to admit that I never stepped inside of the building. I wanted to, but the gardens were so nice, and the bird life so varied, that I just couldn't tear myself away. Oh well, next time.

We toured the site and were amazed at the house and it's history. The grounds surrounding the area were beautiful but we missed most of the flowers in bloom.

The house is beautiful and a huge bonus are the grounds: very pretty with diverse plants and trees. We learned a lot by walking the grounds.

We visited in March after the daffodils were dying away and before the main flowering plants and trees came into bloom. Even so, it was possible to enjoy the parkland and envisage how beautiful they would be later in the year. I imagine that Summer and Autumn would be incredible here. Worth a visit if you want a restful period... More

We went on a group tour and the grounds are incredibly beautiful. The staff was very knowledgeable about what plants were what and what the flowers were. We also played games that helped us get to know each other. These games were organized by the Lockerly staff and were really fun.

This place has an elabarate amount of vegetation on the property. The Expert that operates this place and the greenhouse and grounds name is Greg. We were taken on a tour of the grounds along with seeing the many plants in the greenhouse. There is even a Venus Fly trap. Great Place.

If you want to enjoy a quiet walk amid beautiful flora, skip this place, In the first place, the walking path is also a rough gravel "road". You are allowed to drive it, and if you persist in going, I recommend that, Second, there is little flora, and the "scenic" pond is shallow and muddy. Maybe we hit it at... More

We have been to visit Lockerly Hall several times. Daniel Tucker was my great, great, great, great grandfather. Gives me chills when i visit knowing he built it and it was part of our heritage from years gone by. Not many people have history still standing so for me it's very special. Beautiful home and very hands on. Not like... More
