This is the historic area of Jekyll Island. Entrance into the park is $6 per car. They accept cash and visa at the gate. The Historic District has several small shops and a hotel.

The JI Historic District is best seen via a bicycle. It's an easy pedal with lots of opportunities to learn about the history of the island and it's early occupants. You can rent bikes, but it's always great to bring your own as the miles of bike trails around the island will definitely call your name. Each trail is an... More

The sightseeing trip was very good. We got a good ride through the beach area, the million dollar hotel, summer waves water park and the stores on the island. For a smaller area rather than a larger city block, the stores has a big variety of everything to offer that you probably will be looking for, including live entertainment and... More

The best way to tour this area is by bicycle. I admit it it is hot in July but you see so much more on the bike where you can stop and enjoy the scenery. Beautiful historic homes and great bike trails and photo opportunities.

Went there on 7/2/16 for the first time. Coming into the island be prepared to pay $6 for parking. Spend time driving or bike riding all over the island. You will love it! The beach is not crowed. The shop workers/owners are great to talk to. There are various ruins to see. Be sure to check out the turtles while... More

The Historic District has a very interesting trolley tour, highlighting some of the historical facts and history of Jekyll and an entrance and tour of one of the millionaires houses. Did you know the Federal Reserve was initiated on Jekyll? The brain child of the millionaires who owned and wintered on Jekyll formulated it right here. Did you know the... More

This review is for the Trolley Tour offered by the Jekyll Island Museum at 100 Stable Road. The tour is wonderful! Our driver/guide was Sally and she did a great job. The trolley leads you along otherwise restricted pathways of the Historic District while the guide points out houses and places of interest. You also stop and go into two... More

I loved walking around the historic district. The homes are beautiful. There are lots of great signs so you learn about the history of the Jekyll Island Club.
